Despite being exhausted from the biathlon, David and I managed to get a terrible night of sleep. Luckily, I wasn't the one who had to go to work so I was able to nap during the day. While watching Million Dollar Baby, I made a new necklace before finally deciding to go outside to try and work out again. I was only able to run a short distance before I was exhausted and had to stop.
Finally, I took a ferry over to meet up with David. Apparently, he was much more affected from the race and was walking around in pain. Steps were very hard for him. Despite the rainy evening, we wandered around looking for a place to eat for when Wes came in.
We ended up at the Bentley Restaurant and Bar, which was the nicest restaurant that we've eaten while in Sydney. It was voted best new restaurant in the area that we were in. And though we wandered in around 7:45 pm, we were able to get a reservation for 9:00 pm. This was fine since Wes's plane wasn't going to land until 8:00 pm. After a table finally left around 9:15 pm, we finally were able to sit down and order some food. The meal was fantastic, but the best part was the fact that we were able to get our drinks and our chickpea chips for free! Therefore, we decided that the waiter deserved a tip for helping us out.
After dinner, we headed back to our place and David and Wes hung out while I went to bed.
Australia's strange fact of the day: Mandatory Voting. Though we've already talked about the elections and how strange the process it is, apparently everyone HAS to vote. On election day, you have to go to the polls or send in a absentee ballot. Basically, you must make a choice in some form of writing, but you can choose to vote or abstain. If you don't send in your opinion, you get fined $20. Granted that is not a lot of money, but I think it encourages people to make the effort.
