Questions? Ask away and we can try to answer them!

I know that many of you are reading the blog and I'm sure some of you have questions about what's it like over here. I'd encourage you to leave comments with questions if you have them!

When you flush the toilet, does the water actually swirl the other way?

Unfortunately I have not been able to answer this question. Every toilet that I have seen has been one that just pumps out lots of water and then it goes down the drain without any swirling. The weird thing about the toilets has been that there are 2 types of buttons for when you flush. For example, here are our options to flush the toilet.

Notice how it seems like one side is bigger than the other. Obviously, the first thought would be that the bigger half would be for more water, which would be for when you go number 2. This is not the case. It appears that both buttons give the same amount of water. This small/big option is much more apparent in our friend's apartment, but I had forgotten to capture their toilet. They have 2 separate buttons, where 1 button has a circle that is half filled and the other button has a completely filled circle. But once again both toilets flush the same amounts.

If I do find a toilet that actually swirls, then I'll let you know if it actually swirls the other way.

Some people have requested more pictures, so I'll post some more of earlier in the week. These were all taken on our ferry ride in!

The actual sails of the Opera House are beige/cream colored when you get closer. They appear to be white because of the reflection from the sun. Also, they couldn't be pure white because it would have ended up blinding people!

Here you can see people doing the bridge climb. In the past, people used to be able to pay a small fee and climb up the bridge themselves, but nowadays you can only be guided up there. It's a pretty hefty price (almost $200), so we're saving to do that when Robin comes visit!
